Lion Brooch by J.P.Bellin

Lion Brooch by J.P.Bellin

Jewelry

During the 1950s and 1960s, many major European and American jewelry houses were fascinated with creating lion brooches. Compared with the elegant and classical interpretations by brands such as VCA and HB, this playful lion by J.P. Bellin stands out with its almost disdainful expression, a look that seems to gaze down upon the world. With a touch of arrogance and humor, it possesses an especially vivid and charming personality.

J.P. Bellin was revived in 1963 by brothers Jean and Pierre Bellin, whose family jewelry-making heritage dates back to the late 19th century. The family had long provided fine jewelry craftsmanship for prestigious maisons such as Cartier. As the brand closed in 1997, its surviving creations have since become highly collectible vintage pieces with both historical character and rarity.
