Luo Yuqi
Born in Sichuan, China, Luo Yuqi lives and works in Chengdu’s Lanting Art District. He studied oil painting at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (1992–1996) and lived in Canada from 2002 to 2012. Returning to China in 2013, he has since developed a highly personal painting practice.
His work avoids conceptual complexity, focusing instead on everyday experience and intuitive expression. Through emotionally charged compositions, his paintings convey inner tension and spontaneous energy, often described as a dynamic confrontation between spirit and form.
Cats and fish are recurring motifs—cats reflecting sensitivity and inner states, while fish symbolize freedom and spiritual release.
Luo’s works have been widely exhibited in China and internationally, collected by institutions and private collectors. He has also gained recognition in digital art and published monographs, reinforcing his market presence.
